Bullying, Harassment, Conflict, Reporting Procedures and Definitions
Board Policy on Bullying: 5517.01
Please read through the definitions and procedures below. If you feel that a report is required, go to the bottom of the page and click on the link to submit an Electronic Incident Report.
Bullying: Bullying is deliberate or intentional behavior using word or actions, intended to cause fear, intimidation, or harm. Bullying may be a repeated behavior and involves an imbalance of power. Furthermore, it may be serious enough to negatively impact a student's educational, physical, or emotional well being.

Procedure: Required to report (Complete and turn in the "Report of a Bullying/Harassment Incident" form to a school counselor or principal. Incident reporting forms can be found in the front office, College and Career Center, online at the bottom of this page, or by asking a teacher.
Harassment: Harassment means behavior toward a student or group of students based, in whole or in part, on their sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability or any other characteristic protected under State, Federal, or local law, which substantially interferes with the student's school or academic performance or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive school environment. Harassment may be student-to-student, student-to-staff, staff-to-student, male-to-female, female-to-male, male-to-male, female-to-female.

Conflict: A two-sided issue between students in which both students are contributing to the issue.

Procedure: NOT required to report. Staff member facilitates peer resolution or refers the students to a school counselor.
